Georgia Store Helped 443 Kids build Pinewood Derby Cars

Home Depot Store 147 in Buford, Ga., teamed up recently with the local Awana Club and Cub Scout parents for a fun-filled Derby Day at the Depot. A team of Home Depot associates helped the crowd of 443 kids build their very own Pinewood Derby cars.

Gene, a 24-year associate, captained the day’s events by organizing three stations where associates helped the kids design, cut and finish their race cars.

Gene was joined by Larry, Mike, Anthony, Robert and Karl, to make sure the crowd of parents were not left out of the fun.

“It ended up being a great event to support our community,” said Dave McElveen, Manager of the Buford Home Depot.
