A Bachelor Party, Home Depot Style
The aisles of Home Depot stores have seen their fair share of weddings over the years. But how about a bachelor party! Store 1519 in Littleton, Colo., helped a groom-to-be overcome wedding jitters of a different sort. It wasn’t the ceremony that was making this groom nervous – it was his lack of DIY skills.
Friends and members of the wedding party reached out to Darrin, Home Depot operations manager at Store 1519, to see if the store would be willing to host a home improvement-themed bachelor party.
Darrin agreed to host the event and the Littleton Home Depot began preparing for the groom-to-be and four of his friends.
Angel, the front end supervisor, trimmed a hard hat with hand tools for the guest of honor, who spent two hours in a series of workshops and product demonstrations led by Mark, a Littleton Home Depot sales associate.
Mark showed the guests how to operate a variety of tools, and the group went through basic electrical and home improvement skills training, along with some drywall and framing work.
Other customers shopping in the store that day also got a chance to brush up on their skills, as many of them were invited to watch the workshops and join in the fun as they passed by.
“We learned that the groom and his bride are getting ready to buy their first house,” Darrin said, “Now he knows how to use some basic tools and make some repairs.”
