Home Depot Legends: Dave and Russ – Oak Harbor, Washington

Dave and Russ become Pothole patrol to help a customer in Oak Harbor, Washington.
A customer came into Store 8563 in Oak Harbor, Wash., to purchase 10 bags of crushed gravel to fill potholes in her driveway. She explained to Pro Desk Department Supervisor Dave that her husband had been deployed early on a naval assignment and had not had time to fill the potholes, so she decided to take on the job while he was away.

When the customer said she intended to load all those bags into her Toyota Camry, Dave jumped in with an intervention plan.

“She had three young children with her, she was pregnant, and I knew those bags were way too much weight for that vehicle,” Dave said. “I told her we would deliver the gravel.”
