Lori from the paint department at Home Depot store 2726 in Traverse City, Michigan, came out of the break room and encountered a visibly upset customer. The customer was looking for scrap linoleum to staple onto the bottom of her garage door so it would make it through one more winter season. The bottom panel was rotting away.
“I knew at once that this was a terrific opportunity to help someone out,” said Lori, who worked with Store Manager Jarrod Dixon to do something extra before she realized the full extent of the customer’s problems. READ MORE >

Phoenix, Arizona Mayor Phil Gordon and The Home Depot District Manager Eric Hagstrom recently kicked off the Pheonix’s Green Building Program, which offers reduced permit fees – up to 100 percent – for a variety of home improvement projects, including solar water heaters, pool heaters, energy-efficient windows and more. This event was hosted by Home Depot store 477.
As part of the partnership with the city, all nine of Home Depot’s Phoenix stores will promote the Green Building Program. Each store will provide customers with a central location to learn how to save on energy costs and how to make their homes more environmentally friendly. Plus, Home Depot customers have access to more than 3,700 environmentally preferred products under our Eco Options label.
